The Reception crew had a swashbuckling Pirate Day full of fun and adventure on
Thursday led by Captain Cowling and Shipmate Stevens. The young pirates were
intrigued to find mysterious clues during the ‘plastic pirates’ workshop with Captain D from Resource Futures. They worked cooperatively together to solve the riddles and help the sea animals that were affected by plastic pollution. They were reminded about the importance of being responsible citizens and the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. The children also enjoyed listening to pirate-themed stories, singing and dancing to lots of pirate songs and testing out their brilliant boats to see if they floated. Finally Mitchelmore McPirate delivered a treasure chest filled with edible treats which the children enjoyed along with a refreshing ice pop. What a memorable day!
